QUB Literific go through to Irish Times Semi Final

On Friday 7th December 2012, Society President Andrew Carruthers and Society Secretary Adam Kydd travelled to Kings Inns, Dublin, to participate in the second round of the Irish Times Debating competition . The motion was This House Would Now Longer Support the Barclay’s Premier League. As first proposition they criticised the ownership of English football clubs as scorning the true virtues of sportsmanship and community. After very impressive speeches from the Literific and their competitors. The adjudicators of the Irish Times competition complemented the QUB pair on their teamwork and rhetorical style. The Literific team progressed to the Semi Finals to be held in early 2013.
